Meet the OSH Physicians Performing the Mako® Total Knee Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery

Oklahoma Surgical Hospital is one of the first hospitals in Oklahoma to offer Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Total Knee Surgery. This latest advancement in robotic joint replacement surgery transforms the way total knee replacements are performed. The Mako total knee system allows the surgeon to create a personalized surgical plan to relieve pain caused by joint degeneration due to osteoarthritis.

Clint Basener, DO

Clint J. Basener, DO received his medical degree from Des Moines University, and Internship from St James Hospital, Midwestern University, Olympia Fields, Illinois.  He completed an orthopedic residency in both pediatrics and trauma here in Tulsa at Oklahoma State University Medical Center, then completing his surgical sport medicine and arthroscopic fellowship at Wellington Orthopedics and University of Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy in June 2010.His sub-specialty/special interest is sports medicine, arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle, and total joint arthroplasty and his practice is located at Central States Orthopedic Specialists in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
His sub-specialties are shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and foot and ankle injuries and his practice is located at Invictus Healthcare in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Christopher A. Browne, MD

Dr. Chris Browne received his medical degree from the University of Kansas in 1995. His residency was completed at the University of Kansas at Wichita in 2000. Dr. Browne completed a fellowship at the Scripps Clinic in Lower Extremity Reconstruction. He is certified by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Browne’s sub-specialty is Knee, Hips and Total Joints and his practice is located at Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedics Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Sarat C. Kunapuli, MD

Dr. Sarat Kunapuli received his medical degree from the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. His residency was completed at McLaren Greater Lansing/Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan.
His sub-specialties are adult reconstruction procedures for the hips, knees, and shoulders, including minimally invasive hip, knee, and shoulder replacements, complex hip and knee revisions, direct anterior hip replacements, shoulder resurfacing, and arthroscopic procedures and his practice is located at Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedics Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Ronald S. LaButti, DO

Dr. Ronald S. LaButti earned his undergraduate degree from Providence College in 1987. Dr. LaButti attended medical school at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine graduating in 1994. After completing an internship at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University, Dr. LaButti completed his residency at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Following his residency, Dr. LaButti completed a one-year fellowship in lower extremity and joint reconstruction with Kenneth Krackow, M.D.
His sub-specialties/special interests are treating joint disorders in adults and children and his practice is located at Central States Orthopedic Specialists in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

David E. Nonweiler, MD

Dr. David E. Nonweiler earned his undergraduate degree from Baylor University in 1982. Dr. Nonweiler attended medical school at Tulane University School of Medicine, graduating in 1986. His residency was completed at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Department of Orthopedics in 1987, and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Department of Orthopedics in 1991. Dr. Nonweiler completed his fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1992. He is certified by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Nonweiler’s specilaized interests are Total Joint Arthroplasty, Sports Medicine, and Arthroscopic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Shoulder, Hip, and Knee and his practice is located at Central States Orthopedic Specialists in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Rodney L. Plaster, MD

After receiving his undergraduate degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, Dr. Plaster received his medical degree from The University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, and his internship in internal medicine from The University of Kansas, Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He then went on to complete residencies in orthopaedic surgery and pediatric orthopaedics from St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas and Shriners Hospitals for Children in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Plaster has also completed a fellowship in adult reconstruction, total hip, total knees from The University of Utah. Dr. Plaster serves as a clinical instructor at OU College of Medicine and he is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
He specializes in hip/knee arthroplasty and arthritis surgery and his practice is located at Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedics Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
