Mark R. Meese, MD - General Surgery
Dr. Mark Meese has been in the practice of general surgery at Surgical Associates since 1990. He has assisted Saint Francis Hospital as chairman of the Surgery Patient Care Committee.
Dr. Meese was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and attended school in Bartlesville. He earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Oklahoma in Norman. His college honors included membership in Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. Meese attended medical school at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
Both his internship and residency training took place on the Health Science Center’s Tulsa campus. In his final year of training, Dr. Meese was named Chief Resident in surgery.
Dr. Meese is actively involved in helping meet the needs of a wide number of patients in the region through his service to Saint Francis Hospital. He has served on the hospital’s Parameters, Guidelines and Outcomes Committee, and has also been a member of the Utilization Review Committee.
Dr. Meese is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Southwestern Surgical Congress. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Tulsa County Medical Society, Oklahoma Surgical Association, Tulsa Surgical Society, and the American Society of General Surgeons. He also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Tulsa. Dr. Meese is a member of the American Hernia Society and Counselor for the Oklahoma Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.
